Ohai, not blogged for a while. Silly me.

Anyway, on my old blog I wrote about Knighted (I think).. It was a comedy-drama kind script that I started writing (late last year) that never got finished. I do want to carry on, but I just can’t be arsed at the mo. I like writing it though and I like the way it’s going etc. I was gonna show my Mum’s cousin ’cause he directs adverts y’see and he’ll probably have like.. contacts.. but I never did :’)

So, I was bored just now and made these mock titley things. Obviously there’s no video to accompany it yet.. FYI, Max (Knight) is the main character and it starts with his alarm clock going off, him sleeping in late and being late for work etc. It sounds crap from that description, but yeah, that’s what the time is for, the time :P Might put the script on here tomorrow or something, or might not ;)

At the moment.. nothing. Well, other than what I do at the moment.

I set up my site when I was in the last year of school, just as something else to do. Originally it was just kind of a blog, but then evolved into a news and recaps site for media and televisualness. I’ve been lucky enough to watch programming from various channels ahead of TX and have even get invited to screenings, such as; The Pacific, Britain’s Got Talent and Sherlock.

Last week I also got the chance to go up to Elstree Studios in Borehamwood (where Big Brother, Dancing on Ice and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? are filmed) to meet the Big Brother press team. Luckily I also got to talk to the Tree of Temptation, go in the camera runs, have a tour of the Big Brother studios, meet Davina McCall and Andrew Stone and stand in the front row during a live show.. amazing! Did you see me on Channel 4? Cringe on my life :’)

I left school about a year ago now and started a radio course at college, but dropped out as I much prefer TV.. Guess I didn’t think it through enough. I still don’t have a job, and I don’t really want one. My site doesn’t benefit me financially, but I don’t really care about that.. my parents do more so. I do have plans for the site though, such as monetizing it, but not hugeeee, annoying ads. What can you do with little web skills and no money, ‘eh? I’ve started taking the site more seriously though..

I don’t really call myself a journalist or a freelance journalist.. I don’t even know what I’d categorise myself as, but that is kind of what I feel I would like to be now.. When would I start calling it ‘my job’? Is it? I don’t know :’) I do get flattered when I’m put on a ‘journalist’ list on Twitter, that makes me smile. I must be doing something right? Did I ever think all that would happen? Hahaha, no way. I can’t complain!

If you think I’m bragging, that’s not the intention of this post at all.. It’s just a brief (and I mean brief) summary of recent things that have been happening with me.

My site is iMediaMonkey.com, of course and Twitter.. @jordanhowell.

A lot of people on Twitter have been raving on about Mary Queen of Shops.. I was all ‘meh’ about it because I’ve got enough things to watch, but I gave in and watched the first one yesterday on DailyMotion (because it’s not on iPlayer for some reason) and OMG I LOVE IT!

Mary Portas (who is just amazing!) goes round and helps struggling local shops and all that jazz.. and she makes it all nice again! It’s possibly my new favourite show, even I can’t remember what my last favourite was.. GLEE? Yeah, why not? :’)

I’m not sure how many episodes are in this series, but ep 5 airs on BBC Two this Monday! Ep 1 is the best though, so far. Mary goes to help a struggling bakery, and OMG the owner woman is sooo rude! It’s great, get it watched! [Part 1] [Part 2] [Part 3]

Buzz is a mess though and has a broken wing thing! Woody is fine, but I couldn’t find his hat :(

I’m not a person who likes waiting, and I’m really not a huuuge fan of the cinema.. so I watched Toy Story 3 online early this morning! I loved it tbh. I loved the story, I loved the new characters and the end just makes you (want to) cry everywhere. There was also a hilarious bit about an hour in, so funny :’). I’m totally going to get a Lots-O’-Huggin’ bear too!

This made me want to get in the loft and find my Woody and Buzz xD. So I did.. It was soo hot, like.. death heat. Found them in the end though (minus Woody’s hat D:), thank goodness. All that rummaging around.. I near enough did the spilts at one point trying to get over some bag things. Also found Sooty puppets.. wonder how old they are now. Goshh.

I love DRAMA! Specialised drama’s more so, but Father & Son (starring Dougray Scott, Sophie Okonedo and Reece Noi) the other week and Five Days (starring Surrane Jones and David Morrissey) a while back were brilliant. Specialised, single dramas have been great over the last year; An Englishman in New York and Fattest Man In Britain on ITV, Mo on Channel 4 and On Expenses, Canoe Man, Worried About the Boy (and now Dive) on the BBC.. I’ve loved them all! So well written, well shot and well acted.

Dive is a two-parter airing on the 8th and 9th of July.. It’s about a girl called Lindsay who’s training to compete at the 2012 Olympics in the diving, but she gets distracted by a lad (Robert, played by Cook off’ve Skins) and then gets pregnant.. ohh maa goshh. Then her diving teacher tells her that she needs to buck her ideas up and that there would be scouts at her next event. Then she decides that she’ll concentrate on being a Mum, but then goes back to diving without telling Robert.. so he goes off in a huff and then when she has the baby he gets called and has to decide whether to be a proper Dad to the kid or to have nothing to do with them.. oh my!

So there, that was my lil’ condensed synopsis.

It was really good actually! It’s on over two consecutive nights (which is good, love things that are scheduled like that and it’s also cleverly split to focus on Lindsay’s story in the first episode and Robert’s story in the second episode.
